About this role

About us:

Causaly is redefining how humans acquire knowledge and develop insights in biomedicine. Our AI-powered platform enables researchers and decision-makers to discover and interpret evidence from millions of scientific publications, clinical trials, regulatory documents, and other complex data sources in minutes.

We are building the world’s most advanced biomedical knowledge platform, powered by a high-precision Knowledge Graph and GenAI capabilities. Our technology is already used by leading biopharmaceutical organizations to accelerate drug discovery, improve safety, and drive better decision-making.

Backed by top-tier investors including ICONIQ, Index Ventures, Pentech, and Marathon, we are scaling rapidly and expanding our product suite and market presence.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be a key contributor to Causaly’s revenue growth while inspiring change as a market game-changer. Reporting directly to our SVP Sales, you will work cross-functionally to build customer value and drive new business. You will have global ownership of the full lifecycle of a portfolio of top 50 global pharma enterprise customers. You will be pivotal to understand our client’s strategy, relate to the executive level and navigate our resources and capabilities to the “best fit”.

Importantly, this is a role for someone who has built their career in strategy consulting within Life Sciences. We are looking for a former Engagement Manager (or above) who has advised pharma leadership on R&D, clinical development or commercial strategy, and who now wants to own long-term client partnerships rather than discrete projects. Commercial ownership matters here, but it sits on top of consulting-grade problem solving, not in place of it.

What you will do:

- Become a trusted advisor in the AI Pharma sector to existing and target Causaly clients

- Leverage your existing industry network to open early discussions and get critical customer insights

- Establish relationships at senior call points in Top 50 Pharma and work to develop and qualify interest in use cases and business challenges that Causaly can address

- Drive new business for Causaly Cloud platform solution, selling into the existing client base and prospective new clients across North America, focused on the Top 30 clients.

- Strategically understand the needs, limits, must haves, and key landmines in the accounts and guide the go to market teams in execution

- Develop an understanding of assigned clients’ strategic goals, decision-making structure, key influencers, and other objectives while mapping Causaly impact through both today’s offerings and tomorrow’s potential

- Liaise with Product to refine Product Market Messaging and contribute customer and market feedback about future business opportunities and current product experience.

- Become a champion for the Causaly Platform with ability to deeply discuss the value across any given product in the solution.

- Strategically orchestrate resources both internally and externally throughout the sales process

- Accurately communicate account status to executive Causaly management (COO, CEO etc.)

What you need to succeed:

- A strategy consulting background in Life Sciences, gained at a top-tier or specialist life sciences consultancy (for example McKinsey, BCG, Bain, L.E.K., ZS, IQVIA, Charles River Associates, Putnam or Clearview), or in the in-house strategy function of a major pharma company

- Progression to Engagement Manager level or above, or the equivalent grade at your firm (Project Leader, Manager, Associate Principal, Principal, Partner)

- A track record of owning senior client relationships and leading complex, multi-stakeholder engagements with pharma clients

- Experience in engaging with scientific (R&D, Clinical Development), technical and economic buyers and decision-makers up to C-Suite in global 30 Pharma

- Consultative selling skills (questioning, listening, handling call dynamics, managing objections, closing for next steps)

- Experience selling into Big Pharma & Biotech space

- The ability to work in partnership with Strategic Account Executives to develop opportunities and sell the value of the Casualy Cloud platform

- Make sure that our clients and prospects understand and perceive the full value of our products while acting as a trusted voice in articulating Causaly positioning

- Experience leading strategic, long-term sales cycles within the biopharma sector

- Strong presenter, both in person and virtually

A note on background: strategy consulting experience in Life Sciences is a firm requirement for this role.
